Aerosmith

Aerosmith burst from Boston in 1970, fusing blues-infused hard rock with theatrical swagger. Founders Steven Tyler (vocals) and Joe Perry (guitar) led a lineup that quickly built a devoted following with incendiary live shows and razor-sharp riffs. The original lineup included Tom Hamilton, Joey Kramer, and Ray Tabano, who was soon replaced by Brad Whitford, helping solidify a chemistry that would power a string of era-defining albums. Their 1973 debut, featuring Dream On, announced a new American hard rock voice, blending Southern-inspired grit with pop hooks and virtuosic guitar work. Through the mid-70s they became one of the era's biggest acts, forging an identity built on fearless riffs, dangerous onstage energy, and a catalog that would help define arena rock.

Aerosmith's 1975-1980 era yielded Toys in the Attic, Rocks, and the groundbreaking collaboration with Run-DMC on Walk This Way in 1986, which bridged rock and hip-hop and rejuvenated the band's career. The 1987-1993 run, featuring Permanent Vacation, Pump, and Get a Grip, delivered top-charting singles and platinum sales, turning the group into a global stadium phenomenon.
