Scorpions

Formed in 1965 in Hannover by Rudolf Schenker, the Scorpions began as a hard-edged German rock outfit and evolved into a global force across the 70s and 80s. The early lineup, including Klaus Meine on vocals and Michael Schenker on guitar, laid the groundwork for a sound that would fuse heavy riffs with melodic hooks. As the years passed and members rotated, the band found a powerful voice with the Lovedrive era and beyond.

The band's international breakthrough arrived with the 1979 album Lovedrive and their 1984 Love at First Sting, which delivered arena-ready anthems like Rock You Like a Hurricane and Still Loving You. Their 1990 Wind of Change became an enduring global anthem tied to the end of the Cold War, helping them reach mainstream audiences far beyond metal fans. With more than 100 million records sold, Scorpions stand among the most successful German rock acts in history.
