Disturbed

Disturbed formed in Chicago in 1994 around guitarist Dan Donegan, drummer Mike Wengren, and bassist Steve Kmak, with vocalist David Draiman joining early on to complete the lineup. They fused heavy groove-metal with piercing hooks, crafting riffs that hit hard and chorus melodies that stuck with listeners long after the song ended. Their approach to rhythm and dynamics—punchy, down-tuned riffs and Draiman's staccato vocals—helped define a new era of metal that appealed to both metal purists and mainstream listeners.

The Sickness (2000) was a breakout that delivered signature tracks like Stupify and Down With The Sickness, earning multi-platinum sales and single-digit radio play for their era. Over the following years, Disturbed built a global audience with landmark albums such as Ten Thousand Fists (2005) and Indestructible (2008), followed by Immortalized (2015) which featured their celebrated cover of The Sound of Silence. With Evolution (2018) and Divisive (2022), they cement their status as one of rock/metal’s most enduring and influential acts, known for relentless touring and a relentless live energy.
