Dokken

Dokken formed in Los Angeles in 1978, led by vocalist Don Dokken. The classic lineup soon took shape with guitarist George Lynch, bassist Jeff Pilson, and drummer Mick Brown, forging a muscular, melodic metal sound that fused punchy riffs with twin leads. Their debut album Breaking the Chains (1981) introduced fans to sharp hooks and precision riffing, setting the stage for a string of hard-hitting records.

The band broke through in the mid-80s with Tooth and Nail (1984) and Back for the Attack (1987), achieving multi-platinum sales and heavy MTV rotation. Their twin guitar harmonies, soaring solos, and catchy choruses helped define the look and sound of 80s melodic metal; tracks like It's Not Love became staples on rock radio and in practice rooms alike.

Despite lineup changes and periods of hiatus, Dokken's influence endures.
