Skid Row formed in 1986 in Toms River, New Jersey, rising from the bustling club circuit with bassist/vocalist Rachel Bolan and guitarist Dave Sabo at the helm. They paired swaggering riffs with a powerhouse vocal presence from Sebastian Bach, and soon signed to Atlantic Records, becoming one of the era's defining late-80s hard rock acts. The 1989 self-titled debut yielded indelible anthems like I Remember You and 18 and Life, helping reshape glam metal into a heavier, more muscular radio staple and turning the band into global stadium-filling performers.

With a relentless touring ethic and evolving lineup, Skid Row pushed the sound forward on Slave to the Grind (1991), which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and later explored a heavier tilt on Subhuman Race (1995). Through lineup changes—from Bach’s departure to later vocalists—the band has retained its core identity: big riffs, strong hooks, and fearless solos delivered with fearless energy. Today, Skid Row remains active, maintaining a dedicated fanbase and continuing to inspire generations of guitarists who want to chase those iconic riffs and soaring leads on tracks that defined an era.
